Leap of Faith is an organization devoted to suicide prevention. By partnering with survivors, we aim to educate the public about suicide and the role it plays on those left behind.
On average, one suicide takes place every 16 minutes; an attempt happening every 39 seconds. If each suicide effects at least 6 people intimately, every 16 minutes there are 6 more survivors of suicide.
Because of the more than 754,000 suicides between 1980 and 2004, 4.5 million people have been affected by suicide. If those 4.5 million people stood together to help prevent future suicides, imagine how many people we could help.
You can walk for breast cancer, race for MS, or you could take the Leap of Faith for Suicide Prevention. In August of 2008, we are planning to skydive in memory of those lost to suicide while raising funds (and much needed awareness) to benefit suicide prevention, and the aide of families of the victims.
If you'd like to take the Leap of Faith for Suicide Prevention, pledge funds, or volunteer, please don't hesitate to contact us.
This organization is in rememberance of those who have succumbed to suicide-for them it hurt more to live than it did to die-as well as the families and friends of the victims, whose strength and courage can help prevent this tragedy from happening again.
